For the last three years Nadia has curated an Easter Art Exhibition “Stations of the Cross” at William Street Studios in Fairlight. This year a film crew followed Nadia for the weeks prior to Opening Night. The film also features the 15 artists that contributed to each station. This is a fascinating, behind-the-scenes look at the entire artistic process, from concept to canvas.

ANDONG RESETTLEMENT VILLAGE
PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA
Nadia was very privileged to be able to help raise money for the village of Andong, a slum for displaced families who have been relocated to swamp land outside the city with no work, no services, no schools, and little hope.
With the development of Phnom Penh, riverside land has become more desirable. The Cambodian government have been demolishing villages like the one above and trucking poor families to unwanted land well outside the city. There are no services, no schools, no medical facilities, and worse of all, no jobs for the unskilled labourers who need to be near the centre of the city for casual work.
Some NGOs and Christian charities have been helping the people of Andong, but one of the most practical things needed was cheap transportation for workers to get into the city. Currently public transport costs more than an unskilled worker can make each day. Without work, the village has no hope.
A local church minister wanted to buy a truck that can take workers to and from Andong to the city each day for work. This simple initiative will bring enormous hope to this poor community. A second-hand flatbed truck costs around $10,000 and can change many lives.
Nadia raffled her painting “The Last Supper II” and helped raise the money to buy the much needed truck for this village.

The winner of the painting was Roxanne Ackland
Thank you to all who helped support Nadia and the people of Andong in buying tickets. It has been a very worthwhile cause and has helped so many lives. Please find the picture of the truck purchased with the money raised and thank you again!
